The National Weather Service has issued preliminary ratings for tornadoes that touched down in Kentwood, LA and Tylertown, MS on Saturday.
The tornado that touched down shortly after Noon near Kentwood was rated EF-4 while the next tornado that hit Tylertown about an hour later was given an EF-3 rating.
The agency notes that both ratings could change. Storm survey teams will continue to assess damage in those areas for a few days before final ratings will be issued.
Damage to homes, trees, and power lines were reported in Tangipahoa Parish as a result of storms on Saturday.
