Eddie thinks he should not be here today because he dodged death a few times yesterday. The timing is also weird because he just lost his father and his brother had a stroke and before that happened, people kept randomly telling him to “be careful.”
Yesterday when Eddie was driving home from work, he was stopped at a red light, and he saw a pickup truck speeding on the other side of the intersection and coming into his lane. The truck ran a red light and Eddie had to go off the side of the road, so he didn’t get hit. It was such a close call that if he didn’t move, the truck would’ve hit him, and he would’ve rolled into a ditch and died.
Then later in the day while he was taking his kids to practice, he was in a turning lane with his signal on waiting to turn. He looked behind him and saw there was a car behind him speeding and went into the turning lane to pass people, coming right towards his car. He was going 50mph and just nearly missed hitting Eddie by inches. He also saw a truck that rolled over when he drove to Bobby Bones house yesterday too. He saw so many crazy drivers he truly felt like he was supposed to die yesterday.
Fortunately, nothing bad happened to Eddie. He took all the incidents as little reminders that he needs to be careful and aware of his surroundings. He hopes this encourages people to stay off their phone because he would’ve never noticed them if he hadn’t been paying attention.
