Chris Stapleton in the Jazz Fest 2019 lineup

The Rolling Stones will headline Jazz Fest 2019 taking place from April 25-28 and May 2-5 at the Fair Grounds in Gentilly. 

On Thursday, May 2, Rolling Stones will perform. And, in an unexpected announcement, Katy Perry will perform on the first Saturday, April 27. Chris Stapleton is also in that lineup. Tickets to Rolling Stones will be limited to "what’s comfortable.''

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan 18. But on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 9 a.m, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a limited number of tickets for Louisianians only will go on sale for the Rolling Stones show. More details will be announced.

Other headiners are: Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Seeger, Pitbull, Santana, Van Morrison, John Fogerty, Al Green, Earth Wind & Fire, The Revivalists, Logic, Tank and the Bangas, Big Freedia, Ciara, Leon Bridges, J Balvin, The Head and the Heart, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Irma Thomas, Herbie Hancock, Gary Clark Jr., Kamasi Washington, Bonnie Raitt, Alanis Morissette, Tom Jones, Boz Scaggs, Rita Coolidge, The O’Jays, Jimmy Cliff, Ziggy Marley, The Doobie Brothers, Indigo Girls, Galactic, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mavis Staples, Buddy Guy, Little Freddie King, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Little Feat, the Radiators, Dumstaphun, North Mississippi All Stars, The Robert Cray Band, Tab Benoit, Kermit Ruffins, Rebirth Brass Band, Walter Wolfman Washington, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe,

The festival added an extra day to the festival for this year. Thursday, April 25 will now be the opening day of Jazz Fest.

Jazzfest officials made the announcement on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center on Rampart Street. New Orleans musicians, including Ellis Marsalis, Germaine Bazzle, George French, James Rivers and Little Freddie King performed at the news conference.
