Fast food restaurants are always evolving, so menu items we once loved could disappear from drive-thrus at any time. But even after an item is discontinued, fans still hold out hope that itβll show up at a drive-thru again one day. Here are some fast food options that arenβt around anymore, but customers still hope theyβll make a comeback.
- KFC's Original Popcorn Chicken - This is the old school version of the βPopcorn Nuggetsβ they serve today, but the new ones are bigger, so you donβt get as much seasoned, crispy batter.
- Pizza Hut's P'Zones - This pizza-calzone hybrid was huge, clocking in at about a pound, not counting all the extra sauce youβd need to dip it in. Pizza Hut has brought the PβZone back before, so thereβs still a chance.
- McDonald's OG Fries, Cooked In Beef Fat - Mickey Dβs switched to vegetable oil in the early 90s and things havenβt been the same since. They even use beef-based flavorings to replicate the taste, but fans arenβt fooled.
- Taco Bell's Waffle Taco - This breakfast waffle taco was mind-blowing when it first came out.
- Burger King's Burger Shots - This was the Kingβs attempt to go after White Castle with their own version of sliders, before mini burgers were on menus everywhere.
- McDonald's Fried Apple Pie - These days the pies are baked, but the fried ones were so flaky and good, and we donβt need our pies to be healthy do we?
- Wendy's Spicy Nuggets - These were yanked from menus without warning and people were not happy.
- Pizza Hut's Triple Decker Pizza - Back in the 90s they had this pizza with an extra layer of cheese and crust and more cheese, and it was one of the first times people wondered if weβd taken fast food too far.
- McDonald's Mighty Wings - These stood up to big wing chains at the time, but they werenβt a huge hit for Mickey Dβs, so they were pulled.
- Taco Bell's Bell Beefer - This was taco meat on a bun, so more like a Sloppy Joe than a burger, and it was popular at first, but when demand dropped they took it off the menu.
- Wendy's Frescata Sandwiches - These were cold cut sandwiches meant to give Subway a run for their money, but they didnβt sell well.
- Chick-fil-A's Spicy Chicken Biscuit - People loved this breakfast item and donβt understand why the chain would get rid of it, especially since they still sell spicy chicken sandwiches.
My favorite is Burger King's cheesy tots! They come and go, but NEVER stay on the menu. I need my tots. "Napoleon, give me some of your tots" -Brittany
