Figure skating a sport? My husband thinks not

Team USA scored its first medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics on Saturday thanks to seventeen-year-old snowboarder, Red Gerard. The Ohio native won gold competing in one of America’s top five favorite Winter Olympics sports, according to a recent survey from The Harris Poll.

The poll, which surveyed 2,079 U.S. adults over the age of 18 between February 6-8, 2018, found that Americans like/love figure skating (58%), ski jumping (49%), bobsledding (48%), speed skating (47%) and snowboarding (43%).

The study also found that a majority of Americans (63%) are watching the Winter Olympics this year.

Even with plenty of people watching the winter games this year, my husband thinks people aren't & he is even saying figure skating isn't a sport. Let's tell him he is wrong! What sport are you watching this year? -Brittany
