Multiple dead following shooting in Winter Park

Six people, including the shooter, are dead following a mass shooting Monday morning at a Winter Park business.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that three men and one woman were pronounced dead at the scene around 8:03 a.m. A fifth person, a male, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The FBI emphasized that the incident was not terror-related. The suspect was an employee of the business where the shooting took place.

The shooting was reported at an industrial area on 3535 North Forsyth Road near Hanging Moss Road, northwest of Colonial Drive and State Road 417.

Gov. Rick Scott has responded to the incident, saying “Over the past year, the Orlando community has been challenged like never before. I have been briefed by our law enforcement officials on this tragic incident and Ann and I are praying for the families who lost loved ones today. I ask all Floridians to pray for the families impacted by this senseless act of violence. I will remain in contact with the Orlando law enforcement community throughout the day as more information is made available.”

The scene has been contained. Multiple law enforcement vehicles are at the scene.

No other details are immediately known.
