It was previously rumored that Kelly Clarkson was "eyeing" a judge spot on American Idol.
According to NBC on Thursday, Kelly Clarkson will join the Voice as a coach for its 14th season which will air spring of 2018. She will join Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and a to-be-named fourth coach.
Clarkson said, “I’m so excited to join ‘The Voice’ at NBC. We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now.”
This announcement was made after Jennifer Hudson was announced to replace Alicia Keys, who would be temporarily stepping away from the show to focus on her upcoming album. Hudson will take this role for season 13 of 'The Voice'.
