Game of Thrones wins top award at the the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards that took place last night, September 22nd. As expected, Game of Thrones won Outstanding Drama Series. The HBO series had a record of 32 nominations, but it only won 2. Peter Dinklage won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama, but all of the 'Game of Thrones' nominees for Best Female Actress in a Drama lost to Ozark's, Julia Garner.
Sandra Oh was poised to be the first Asian to win for Best Lead Actress in a Drama; however, she lost to Jodi Comer for her role in Killing Eve. Fleabag took Outstanding Comedy Series, and Pose's Billy Porter won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. When They See Us scored a big win with Jharrel Jerome winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited TV or Movie Series.
