The internet was set ablaze with a funny cake fail last week. A woman from Milledgeville, GA was quite surprised by her marijuana leaf cake, complete with a smoking my little pony on it. The baker apparently misheard her mother when she ordered a "Monana" cake. The cake maker has been fired.
Cassandra Walker, the Georgia Dairy Queen employee, says she isn't fully to blame for the cake. Another employee took the call, misheard the customer and told her to make the design. She even questioned that is was right, and was still told to do it. A manager, she claims, oversaw her downloading the images and creating it, without saying a word.
Now Walker is jobless and doesn't understand why they didn't just write her up and explain that's not acceptable. The cake was not returned and the customer didn't even complain to management. She bought the cake and left with it.
“Our cake decorator designed a cake based on what she thought she heard the customer order. When the customer picked it up and said it was not what she ordered, we immediately apologized for the error and offered to redesign it the way she originally intended. The customer said it was fine, paid for the cake and left,” one of the Dairy Queen owners, Al Autry, said to USA Today.
Apparently, Dairy Queen has no sense of humor and didn't appreciate the free publicity.
