Sabrina Carpenter: iHeartRadio On The Verge Artist

Sabrina Carpenter

At only 19 years old, Sabrina Carpenter is about to release her third full-length studio album, Singular, which she officially kicked off with her single "Almost Love," and has now become iHeartRadio's newest On The Verge Artist.

In June 2018, Sabrina debuted "Almost Love" for the very first time, performing it live for fans at this year's iHeartRadio Wango Tango in Los Angeles. The song was co-written by Sabrina, Mikkel Eriksen, Nate Campany and Steph Jones and produced by Stargate, and sets the stage for Sabrina's upcoming new album, which is set to be released this winter.

Sabrina was just 15 years old when her debut album Eyes Wide Open was released, and since then, the Disney channel alum and her music has grown tremendously.

In July, the pop star shared the "Almost Love" music video, which was released in July, Sabrina shows how it was almost love with her love interest as she turns him to stone with a kiss — kind of like the Greek myth of Medusa. But while Carpenter does not have snakes for hair in the visual, she does also turn men into stone — as does her girl squad — with one kiss. Hey, it was almost love. Right?

Sabrina has been working on Singular over the past two and a half years, and the record will follow 2016's EVOLution which featured hits like "Thumbs." She has previously explained to Ryan Seacrest of Singular, "I hear everything differently now. It's just you really do grow over time without even paying attention to it. … The difference with this album than my previous album before was I just kind of went into not thinking about it. Because I was touring and I felt so much more confident in myself, and what I was doing, and my abilities, and knowing I was growing, and I brought that right into the studio so I didn't have to think about anything and once you stop thinking you just go 'Oh!' … you take control in a different way."

So far, fans have only heard "Almost Love," but Sabrina has teased what fans can expect from the rest of Singular, especially in terms of features. In August, she told Billboard that she has one of her "best friends" on the album, as well as "someone that people know that [she's] been working with."

Singular is expected to be released sometime in winter 2018.
