This has become known to many as the “organ donation awareness game”.
Two families tied together through the miracle of donation have used - and will continue using - this game to promote organ, tissue and eye donation awareness.
• At 6 months old, John Clarke Perry became a HERO. His heart went to a little boy named Davis Boswell. Upon meeting for the first time, the Perry family (LSU Fans) told the Boswell Family (Auburn Fans) that Davis' heart may be in an Auburn fan...but, it will always bleed 'purple and gold'!
• Since then, the two families unite at this particular game to honor and remember HERO John Clarke Perry, to celebrate Davis' milestones, to spread donation awareness and to increase the donor registry
• On Saturday (GAMEDAY, Oct 26), The Perry & Boswell Families will tailgate together ahead of the LSU v Auburn match up. At their tailgate, LSU Manship students working with LOPA to promote donation will be working to increase the donor registry & spread donation awareness.
Friday (Oct 25), @ 2p @ OLOL Children's Hospital
·A pediatric wall (location: On 1st floor near chapel) to honor silent HEROES who gave the gift of life through donation at the end of their life will be unveiled. The special 'spaces' (2 in all) will both be in John Clarke Perry's honor.
