Expect Target Markdowns On These Days!

Shopping cart target market

There’s something so frustrating about paying full price for something and then finding it on sale a few days later. Sure, lots of stores will give you the price difference, but it can be a hassle. Thankfully, Target shoppers can avoid that altogether with some insider tips from allthingstarget.com, a blog about Target's discounts and sales.

According to their info, Target follows a markdown schedule and each department’s clearance items are discounted on a specific day. Knowing when things go on sale can help you save and that’s always a plus, especially at Target.

  • Monday —Electronics, accessories, kids clothing, books, baby and stationery
  • Tuesday —Women's clothing, pet items, and food
  • Wednesday —Men's clothing, health and beauty, diapers, lawn and garden items, and furniture
  • Thursday —Housewares, lingerie, shoes, toys, sporting goods, decor, and luggage
  • Friday —Auto, cosmetics, hardware, and jewelry

According to allthingstarget.com, the schedule can vary a little from store to store, but one Target employee advises getting to stores early so you can see where workers are putting the sales stickers so you know for sure.
