James Corden does heartwarming 'Carpool Karaoke' for fan with cancer

(The Blast) - James Corden made a 12-year-old cancer patient’s dream come true with her own special version of “Carpool Karaoke.”

“The Late Late Show” host flew Vara Gordon and her mother Emily from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Los Angeles on Tuesday. The show provided them with hotel accommodations in Hollywood and invited them to a taping later that day.

Vara and her mom got to hang in the green room, were given a VIP tour, and got premium seats for the taping. She even got to sit at James’ desk and interview her mom!

Then on Wednesday, Vara and her mom returned to the studio and hung out in the green room until it was time for the big moment. James Corden got behind the wheel and drove around with Vara for an hour doing “Carpool Karaoke.”

Corden and Vara shot a video after the ride was completed, where he said, “At the start of this, we talked about how many great people have sat in that chair to do a ‘Carpool.’ Not one is greater than you. I mean it, you’re incredible. Thank you for coming to do this, I’ll never ever forget it.”

This all began when Vara — who has been battling stage 3 Wilms tumor, a childhood cancer that makes its start in the kidneys — made a video with Milk Tyson, who started the FAM Foundation Fighting All Monstersto help fight childhood cancer. Milk is quickly becoming a influential philanthropist, and so far has helped children meet heroes of theirs including Pharrell,Justin Turner,Cara Delevinge, and Zendaya.

Tyson and Vara, with the help of Cara Delevingne, made a plea to appear alongside the “Late Late Show” host on his singing show, and put the message out on Twitter.

Corden responded after Vara’s request and extended the invite for her to come to Los Angeles for a special visit.
