Multiple Women Say They Were Rejected From Job Because of "Ghetto" Names

Several women in Missouri are crying foul after they received an email that rejected them from a job because the company didn't like their "ghetto" names.

According to KMOV, a St. Louis woman named Hermeisha Robinson posted a screenshot of the email she received on her Facebook page that read in part, "unfortunately, we do not consider candidates that have a suggestive ghetto name. We wish you the best in your career search. Regards."

Robinson said in her post that her "feelings are very hurt," and that she wanted "for everyone to share this post because discrimination has to stop."

Her post has more than 12,000 shares as of Monday afternoon.

As it turns out, Robinson wasn't the only person to receive the rude rejection email about her name. Two other women, Dornisha Zachary and Militina Burnett say they too received an email similar to the one Robinson received after they applied for jobs at Mantality Health.

The women said they couldn't believe their eyes when they read the email from the prospective employer.

"The company looked at my name and said, 'We don't care about what you've done in life. Your name is going to dismiss you completely,'" Zachary said.

Mantality Health CEO Kevin Meuret told the outlet they think at least 20 other people got rejection emails similar to Robinson's.

"This is not a reflection of who we are as a company," said Meuret. "This is deplorable."

Chesterfield Police say they're looking into whether the emails could have been sent by a disgruntled employee.

Indeed.com says there is no evidence that any hacking has occurred on the company's account.
