Monkey put on strict no-junk-food diet

A morbidly obese wild monkey who kept eating plenty of junk food and soda left behind by people has been placed on a strict diet based on lean protein, fruits and vegetables.

According to CBS News, officials caught chunky monkey, nicknamed "Uncle Fat" by people in Bangkok, Thailand, after they found photos of him floating around the internet/social media last month.

Most wild monkeys typically weigh around 20 pounds, but this monkey weighs around 60 pounds.

"It was not easy to catch him," said Kacha Phukem, the wildlife official who snatched him up, "He was the leader of his pack, and when I tried to go in, I had to fight off a flock of them with sticks."
